Privacy Policy
1. What we collect. Email addresses you submit for OTP verification or Support tickets; one-time codes (stored only as a hashed value, never in plain text, and only for a short time); transcript and caption text generated from spoken audio during Live Transcription, Live Captions, or Transcribe Yourself sessions you choose to save or email; prayer requests (public and private) and reading-plan activity you submit; Support ticket contents; member/congregant records a church administrator enters into the Church Management System (KMS); phone numbers and SMS consent/opt-out status used for Member SMS; images you upload to the Image Tool; the domains a church or developer registers to embed a tool; and basic technical data such as timestamps needed to operate a session.
2. How we use it. To verify you own an email address before issuing or looking up OBS Tools, Global Songs, or KMS access; to store and let you retrieve, edit, or delete your transcripts, captions, and prayer submissions; to let a church administrator manage the member records and SMS consent they are responsible for; to send you transcript exports, OTP codes, SMS messages you've consented to, and support-ticket replies; and to respond to and track Support requests, including forwarding them to an administrator's email.
3. Microphone and audio. Live Transcription, Live Captions, and Transcribe Yourself process microphone audio through your browser's built-in speech recognition to produce text. Audio itself is handled by your browser and is not separately recorded or stored by the Service beyond the resulting transcript or caption text you choose to keep.
4. Member records held on the Church Management System. Data a church administrator enters about its members is controlled by that church — we process it on the church's behalf, to operate the KMS features that church has enabled, and do not use it for any other church's purposes or for our own marketing.
5. SMS messaging and consent. A phone number is only messaged once consent for that purpose has been recorded through the Service's own consent tools, and an opt-out ("STOP") request is honored going forward. Message content and delivery status are logged for the retention period your church's account is configured with, and are shared with our SMS gateway provider only as needed to send the message.
6. Who we share it with. We use third-party providers to help operate the Service: a mail provider to deliver OTP codes, transcript emails, and support notifications; an SMS gateway provider to deliver Member SMS messages; VDO.Ninja for phone-camera streaming; and, where a church embeds them, Google Drive or YouTube for media. These providers process data only as needed to provide their part of the Service, under their own privacy terms.
7. Embedding and cross-domain use. When a tool is embedded on a church's or developer's own website, that site may separately collect data under its own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover. We only receive what the embedded tool itself submits (for example, a prayer request typed into an embedded Prayer Wall), plus a basic view count used for usage reporting to the embedding church.
8. Retention. Transcripts, captions, prayer submissions, and support tickets are retained until you or an administrator deletes them, or until the church's account is closed. Member records are retained per the church's own KMS settings. SMS message logs are retained per your church's configured retention period. OTP codes expire shortly after being issued and are single-use. You can delete individual transcripts, private prayers, and sessions yourself from the relevant tool.
9. Your choices. You can view, edit, export, or delete your own transcripts, captions, and private prayer entries at any time through the relevant tool. You can ask an administrator, through the Support tab, to access, export, or delete other data associated with your email address or phone number, including member records or SMS consent status.
10. Security. OTP codes and admin passwords are stored as one-way hashes, not in plain text. Access to OBS links is limited to whoever holds the link. We take reasonable steps to protect data but cannot guarantee absolute security of any system connected to the internet.
11. Children's privacy. The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it.
12. Fingerprint lock and deleting your account. If you turn on the fingerprint or face lock in the Bible Study app, your phone checks your fingerprint or face. We do not receive or store it. We keep a public key, a label for the phone and the dates of setup and last use, and remove them when you turn the lock off or delete your account. You can delete your account in the app. This removes your account, plans, progress, notes, highlights, saved verses, group membership and lock keys, as described in the Terms. Copies may remain in routine backups until they expire.
13. Changes to this policy. We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes — including when a new tool is added; the "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
14. Contact. Questions about this policy, or requests to access or delete your data, can be sent through the Support tab.
